Employment
Working as a Cleanmycar.com employee you will be paid on a commission basis. Applicants must hold a full driving license and be over 21 years of age. Previous experience with valeting is not necessary as full training will be provided. Wages start at £275 per week rising with experience. 28 days holiday is given per year. Van and equipment is all supplied by us

Van, Equipment and Brand Rental
We are now also offering a rental package which is similar to a Franchise but with no upfront fee. For £150 a week we will rent you a brand new van with all the equipment, training, support and uniforms you will need to run your own car valeting business.

Our rental scheme and franchise opportunity are basically the same, although they are financed differently, the franchise incurs an up front fee of £10k and then monthly fees of approx £150, the rental option requires no upfront fee but a weekly fee of £150, both options include:
ð Fully livered, brand new Citroen Berlingo van (see website for images) complete with all valeting equipment (water tank, generator, power hose, aquavac, full stock of Autosmart chemicals)

Cleanmycar.com was formed in 2002 by two university graduates, Nick Roach and Kingsley Read. We both saw the huge market for car valeting, and the huge lack of well known, respected, valeting firms operating in the industry. Following market research there seemed to be a definite lack of trust between customer and valeter, a vast number of one-man-band valeting operations, and massively variable standards of quality
We decided to set up a car valeting business that was different to all of the others in the industry; we would concentrate on the following:
- Customer Service – this is one of the main reasons for us achieving so many regular, repeat customers. We aim to be punctual, polite and maintain a smart image at all times
- Technology – our website is highly ranked in the top search engines, customers are able to book a valet through the website, when they do, the customer receives an instant and automatic acknowledgement straight to their mobile phone via SMS text messaging. This enhances our modern corporate image and gives the customer something else apart from the high standards in valeting to remember us by.
- Quality of Work – we take great pride in any valet we undertake, regardless of the value of the car, this shows in the final result.
Having set down these basic guidelines on how we wanted to operate we quickly became a respected valeting firm, within our first year we expanded to another van to cope with the high demand we were seeing, and all this work was coming just from the small market town of Aylesbury, and with the majority of new customers finding us on the internet.
Our brand was proving highly popular, and highly memorable. Customers always think “I need somebody to clean my car” – in that statement they have already spoken our business name! Once we had valeted their vehicle, the quality of work and customer service meant that word of mouth would quickly seed more business.
We set up contracts with many businesses to enable us a steady income and to put us in a position to expand the Cleanmycar.com brand.
Before our second year was over we had already expanded to our third van which has started creating a new customer base in Milton Keynes. It was at this point that we decided to share this success with like-minded people who wish to run their own business and so we started work on the possibility of franchising the business.
We replaced our small fleet of vans with brand new Citroen Berlingo Enterprise vans and introduced new van livery to enable the vans to stand out from all the rest.
The new vans gave us a much more professional image and can be spotted from a great distance away!
We then set to work on developing a Franchise Agreement and introduced the rental scheme which is similar to a franchise but allows for easier access into the business.
While developing the franchise package we always put the franchisee’s interests first, we researched many other franchise packages and looked at how we could better the competition

Concerns you may have
- “Cleanmycar.com is such a young company, I am worried there is not enough of a proven track record” – we were formed less than three years ago in late 2002, but we do not see this should be a concern, in this short time our professional approach has meant that we needed three valeting vans just to service our initial customer base in the Aylesbury area. - “Other franchisors have sold a few franchises, and charge a lot more than Cleanmycar.com; this must mean they are a safer option” – we strongly advise you to speak to other franchisees in other valeting firms and see if this is true, ask if they are still receiving the support they were promised and are achieving the return they were told about – we are honest in our approach, we want you to succeed and will be there for you at every step, we are so confident of this we even offer a substantial refund if you are not entirely happy after your first year.
- “Cleanmycar.com still operates from a mobile phone number” – at the time of writing we are still using one mobile telephone number to take customers calls, this is soon to change as we now have a fixed premises in Luton from which we are setting up a national number and call centre.
- “Cleanmycar.com is not a member of the British Franchise Association” – Although the BFA is a highly professional organisation, initially we feel we would rather invest in building a successful and developed infrastructure. We will in the future look into membership of the BFA in order to enable us to further expand our Franchising Operation.
- “I could just set up my own valeting firm, surely this will be cheaper?” – this is a true statement, however you will be starting from scratch and on an unproven path with no background support or guidance, the money you invest in setting up your own business is under a much higher level of risk than the money you would use to invest in a Cleanmycar.com franchise
- “I can never ‘get rich’ from being a franchisee” – this is not true at all, owning a franchise gives you the right to operate your own business, it does not limit you to just one van or one area in which you operate. We teach you ways in which you can build up regular contracts for valeting, once you have a number of these we will show you how to recruit staff to do this work for you, while you work on expanding your business further, either into a new market area or into perhaps a fixed valeting site. In many ways you are more likely to earn a higher income through a Cleanmycar.com franchise than starting on your own.
- “I am not sure I can afford the deposit for either package” – the deposit is mainly used to ensure that you are serious about joining our team and making a successful living, they are set at an amount much smaller than that you would at least need to invest were you to set up you own business (e.g. deposit on a new van, van livery, equipment etc). The deposit is not cashed unless we are left out of pocket without reasonable reason, so please feel free to contact us if you are serious about joining us but are finding it difficult to afford the fees.
